These answers describe the current public iPhone version, 1.2.1.
Is Inset free to use?
Yes. The core framing, preset, crop, and full-resolution export features are free. Inset Lab is a paid upgrade for Creative Frames and batch processing.
Can I stack more than one margin?
Yes. Each layer can have its own color, width, and aspect ratio, so you can build the frame one layer at a time.
Does Inset export at full resolution?
Yes. Inset renders the layout you see in the preview at the full resolution supported by the source photograph.
Can I reuse the same setup?
Yes. Save a setup as a preset and apply it to another photograph. Presets are stored on your device.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Photos and edited images are processed on your device. Inset does send anonymous usage analytics and purchase data as described in the Privacy Policy.
Why does Inset request photo access?
Inset uses add-only access to save exported images. You choose source images through the system photo picker.
What devices are supported?
The current public version supports iPhone with iOS 17.0 or later.
Which languages are supported?
Inset 1.2.1 is localized for 17 locales, including English and Japanese.
Is an Android version available?
Not yet. Android is in preparation. A release date and Google Play URL have not been announced.
How do I manage or restore Inset Lab?
Manage a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Use Restore in Inset with the same Apple ID to restore an eligible purchase.
